SourceRE Launches Industry-Backed MCP Initiative to Govern MLS Data Within AI Platforms; Announces Board of Advisors

September 30, 2026

The SourceRE MCP initiative secured commitments from more than 20 MLSs in stealth before launching at CMLS Open House as an official CMLS Member Benefit for its 241 member MLS organizations.

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL — September 30, 2026 — SourceRE, the MLS compliance and data distribution company, today announced the launch of its MLS Model Context Protocol (MCP) platform, designed to give MLSs a direct, governed connection between MLS data and AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude.

As AI becomes a primary interface for accessing real estate information, SourceRE MCP is designed to keep the MLS at the center of that experience. Today, portals, aggregators, scrapers, and other third parties serve as intermediaries between AI platforms and MLS data. This limits the MLS’s ability to enforce its rules, protect its intellectual property rights, and control how its data is used. SourceRE instead connects authorized users directly to participating MLSs, with data access governed by each MLS’s own rules, permissions, and data policies.

SourceRE MCP is now available as an official Member Benefit to the more than 240 MLS member organizations of the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS), allowing participating CMLS members to launch without platform or implementation fees. The initiative launches with commitments from more than 20 MLSs nationwide secured through a stealth pre-launch rollout. It has received official verification from CMLS and natively includes license verification via the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO).

SourceRE is also unveiling its Board of Advisors, a group of prominent MLS and industry executives who will help guide the company’s AI strategy and product development. Members include CMLS and ARELLO CEOs Jessica Edgerton and Jessica Hickok, Angie Baker (MIBOR Broker Cooperative), Richard Gibbens (Intermountain MLS), Daniel Jones (Hive MLS), Lori Miller (elevateMLS), and Gilbert Gonzalez (LERA MLS).

“We cannot spend the next two years debating how AI should access MLS data while portals and aggregators establish user habits and workflows that teach our industry to access MLS data in AI without the MLS,” said Andrew Coca, CEO of SourceRE. “The SourceRE MCP allows MLSs to establish that access pathway today while retaining control over permissions, compliance, and governance.”
