Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® Partners with SourceRE to Modernize Data Distribution

September 27, 2026

Coastal North Carolina association joins the SourceRE Data Marketplace and adopts Data Dye™ forensic tracking to strengthen control over how its data is licensed and used.

KILL DEVIL HILLS, NC, — September 28, 2026. — Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® today announced a partnership with SourceRE to modernize how the association distributes and protects its data. Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® will list its data in the SourceRE Data Marketplace and adopt SourceRE’s Data Dye™ forensic tracking technology, giving the association greater authority over how its data is licensed, distributed, and secured.

Through the SourceRE Data Marketplace, Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® gains a centralized platform for managing vendor relationships, licensing, and billing, replacing fragmented distribution agreements with a single source of truth. Vendors seeking access to the association’s data will benefit from streamlined onboarding and RESO-certified API access, while the association retains full authority over who receives its data and under what terms.

The partnership also brings Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® into SourceRE’s broader security infrastructure, including proprietary Data Dye™ forensic tracking technology, which embeds invisible, vendor-specific identifiers into distributed listing data to detect and document unauthorized use.

“Protecting the listing data our clients entrust to us is a responsibility we take very seriously,” said Janice Scarborough, 2026 President of the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS®. “This partnership is a major step toward modernizing our MLS and giving us greater control over how that information is shared and used. I’m grateful to the MLS Committee and Board of Directors for the care they put into this decision and for keeping the needs of our members and our market at the center of it.”
